Yamaha GL1 Guitalele Review

Yamaha GL1 Guitalele

      • Solid spruce top
      • Meranti sides and back
      • Nato neck
      • Sonokeling fingerboard and bridge
      • Small size
      • Crossover body between guitar and ukelele

The Yamaha GL1 Guitalele is a great crossover instrument that is a blend of a guitar and Ukelele. It is a great transitioning instrument if you have been playing the Ukelele and want to learn the guitar. It comes with 6 strings like most guitars so you have already made a step further into the guitar.

The size is also larger at about 17” so get the feel of the guitar right off the bat. The Yamaha GL1 Guitalele is a great piece of equipment for practice. It is lightweight and comfortable for many people to play. It can also be played by teens and younger kids.

This is a great instrument and although it might look like a toy it is not. The Yamaha GL1 Guitalele packs a punch. The top is spruce and the sides are meranti so you can be sure sound will be well projected and resonated.

If you are already a guitar player then the Yamaha GL1 Guitalele might not be for you because it might be hard to appreciate the sound and the size of the Guitalele. It is also only tuned to an A. However, for beginners, teens, kids who want to learn the guitar or those who want to transition, this is the perfect instrument to have.
