I’ve never been big on Alesis when it comes to electronic drumsets, however the Alesis Forge Kit is shockingly impressive in many ways. This particular electronic drumset come with a USB Port which allows you to import your own samples and tones. This is particularly useful for live electronic performances. With the exception of that feature, it’s not neccessarily an ideal electronic drumset for live performance as it is more of a beginner level electronic drumset.

Bottom Line
Honestly, I don’t like electronic drum pads as much as I like mesh heads, but the the truth is you pay a premium for the mesh heads. For an introductory level inexpensive electronic drumset, this is a solid purchase. With the exception of a drum throne, This electronic drumkit comes with everything you need to plug and play at a very good price. If you have a little more money to spend, I would steer you to the mesh head options from Alesis or suggest upgrading to Roland. But if you are sticking to a budget that has you looking for electronic drumsets under $500 with almost everything you need in the box, this is a solid option.
