The Tama Star Bubinga Drumset is a Limited Edition drum kit that is known for an impeccable sound that is rich and deep with super fat low end resonance that has attracted some of the best drummers in the business from a variety of styles.  The Ultra-high density of the Tama Star Bubinga drum shells are 4.5mm think, which includes the bass drum and snare drum, vibrate freely with an enhanced resonance.

The Australian Blackwood that finishes the outer layers of the drum kit brings out the beautiful grain pattern that is unique to each Bubinga Exotix Drum Set.

The Bubinga wood is an ultra dense wood with high contact bearing edges with 9mm Sound Focus Rings.  The five inner plies allows the toms and bass drum to remain fairly dry and focused while simultaneously have a huge and "fat" drum tone.

No, this is a shell pack so it only comes with the Bass drum, toms and heads.

Does the Tama Star Bubinga come with hardware?

The only "hardware" this kit does with are the floor tom legs and tom attachments.

Is there no snare drum with this drum kit?

No, this is a shell pack so it only comes with the Bass drum, toms and heads, you will need a snare drum.  Tama Star Bubinga snare drums are available and sold separately.

Can I play any style with this kit?

This drum kit sounds amazing and can be used for any style.  The big sound can seem like its gear towards arena rock, but that's just not the case.  I've seen jazz/funk drummers make this kit sing!

Adam’s Take

I got turned on to this drum kit by the infamous Adam Deitch.  For those that don't know Adam Deitch, he is the drummer for the funk band Lettuce and has toured with Average White Band, John Scofield, Chaka Kahn and a ton of other musicians.

The first time I saw Adam Deitch play the drums with Lettuce, the first thing I noticed was how the tone of his drumset drove the music so well.  Whether they were driving funky thick grooves or getting jazzy and out, the drums consistently stood out to me.
